Big firm capability, small firm approach

Access to diverse expertise and senior talent: Many of our leadership teams have either held senior roles in global firms or have significant depth of experience in specialist fields. Collectively, our networks have a global reach that allows us to bring knowledge and viewpoints from around the world. As smaller organisations, our ratio of senior talent on any project tends to be higher than the big four or the tech giants. By engaging any one of ADDA’s members, clients have immediate access to the full talent base of the alliance.

Faster value delivery and less administration: ADDA members operate a shared accountability and contracting model that simplifies procurement for government clients - each member can act as a prime or clients can contract with several members individually to create a high-performance team.

Reduced risk and lock-in: ADDA members all subscribe to a common set of principles, including our small team delivery model. We believe that we should be measured on our ability to create value over contract management.

Improved program governance: ADDA has a governance structure that always puts client outcomes first, provides a high-level escalation
point for problems that might arise on a project and ensures members are always delivering to our values.

Procure outcomes, not timesheets

The Australian Digital Delivery Alliance offers government a different way to engage digital talent

We call it the ‘Goldilocks model’ - not too big to lock clients into perpetual non-delivery, not too small to create a tent city of self-interested contractors - our members offer small multidisciplinary teams of highly skilled digital professionals that focus on measurable outcomes in shorter, more manageable chunks of work. Each chunk should have clearly defined outcomes that can be measured by the client to form the trigger for a contract extension, ensuring teams remain focussed on value creation and accountable for delivery. It’s not just about ‘deliverables’, but real, measurable outcomes as a result of delivery.

Shared values and ways of working

ADDA member companies are united by a core set of values that set them apart.

Transparency is paramount, both within the alliance and with clients.  We understand the importance of realistic expectations and focus on delivering achievable outcomes.  Our teams are highly competent and compliant, ensuring projects meet all technical and regulatory requirements.  While fostering a culture of pragmatic innovation, we also value a healthy challenge of boundaries to ensure continuous improvement.

Our members learn from past mistakes and embrace fast failure, using setbacks as opportunities for growth.  We prioritize collaboration and treat each other, and our clients, with respect.  Our diverse perspectives are  valued and respected, creating a richer problem-solving environment.  Trust is an underlying assumption within ADDA, and we are socially obliged to support each other's success.  Ultimately, our client's needs always come first, and we are dedicated to exceeding their expectations.

Governance with impact

The Alliance is a member-owned organisation built on the kind of strong governance that comes with decades working in global firms and public sector organisations, adapted to fit our scale and purpose. When an ADDA member is delivering a collaborative project, the ADDA governance council regularly surveys clients to ensure members are living up to our values and applying our shared standards and methodologies. These deliver consistent value for our clients. Members who do not live up to our shared values may be ejected from the alliance.

If a project is experiencing difficulties, clients have recourse to the ADDA advisory group to collaboratively look for ways to respond to the circumstances. The advisory group is made up of our senior leadership and brings a wide range of experience. We can explore alternative approaches, and bring fresh perspectives or skills, or even help you to reframe the project scope and direction.

A light touch

ADDA engagements add a light governance layer that creates significant value for projects.

Kick-off

A value metrics workshop using the ADDA metrics framework helps clients and teams focus their work on measurable outcomes

Mid-cycle

The ADDA advisory group can support direction and connect the project with global expertise to help it accelerate value delivery or pivot to new sources of value. Value metrics are reviewed and adjusted.

Evaluation

The ADDA governance council surveys clients and reports to client governance bodies on the delivery against project value metrics
